Ride, Explore, and Enjoy the Outdoors

Owned by the City of Chisholm and operated in partnership with Iron Range Off-Road Cyclists (IROC) and Minnesota Discovery Center, Redhead is a public, multi-use trail system offering free access for mountain biking and hiking.

The park is generally open seven days a week, with closures possible during heavy rain and seasonal trail transitions. The surrounding trail system also includes designated routes for the Chisholm ATV Trail System. Visitors should follow posted signs and route guidance, as only a limited number of mountain bike trails intersect ATV routes.

More to Come for Redhead and Chisholm

Redhead's future extends beyond the existing trail network. Planning and development efforts are focused on expanding connections between the park and the surrounding community.

Proposed and developing projects include the Chisholm Connector Trail, a connection intended to bring visitors into downtown Chisholm, and a junior-style pump track project at Longyear Lake Park. Additional long-term planning has identified opportunities for future trail connections, trailhead improvements, camping, and other outdoor recreation amenities.

These projects reflect a shared goal: to strengthen the Iron Range as an outdoor recreation destination while creating more opportunities for residents and visitors to explore, ride, and spend time in Chisholm.
