Help Us Build The Midwest’s Next Premier Mountain Bike Destination
We’re transforming an abandoned mine into an adventurer’s paradise in Minnesota’s Northwoods. We need your help to make it happen.
Redhead Mountain Bike Park in Chisholm, Minnesota, with 25 miles of trails, is quickly becoming a must-experience destination. We’re just beginning to turn this machined landscape into a world-class mountain bike park. Support our expansion and help us create tomorrow’s next great outdoor adventure.
Our MissioN: create a public mountain bike park and recreation area unlike anything in the region.
We just completed 25 miles of trails on a landscape cratered with deep blue lakes, expansive overlooks, towering cliff faces, rugged bedrock, and rich, iron-stained dirt. But we’re not finished -- there are still miles and miles of untouched acreage ready to be sculpted into new trail.

An Abandoned Iron Mine Turned Outdoor Gem
The Plan
We have a plan to build out up to 14 more miles of backcountry and adaptive trails that twist and wind through the history and wilderness of Redhead, including trails for every level of rider. Our vision will shape Redhead into a one-of-a-kind adventure park, complete with all the amenities necessary for a memorable and exciting getaway.
But we need your help for Redhead to reach its full potential as a world-class recreation destination. Donations to Redhead will both support this effort and show other funders the support this community of adventurers has for Redhead.
In total, it will cost $1.9 million to complete this multi-year project to refine the raw ore of Redhead into a shining gem of outdoor sports.
We’re at the trailhead of this adventure. Help us push to the peak. Back us today.

Miles Of Adventure On The Steps Of The Northland
What We’re Building
Your funding will help us expand Redhead’s current 25 miles of trails into nearly 40 miles, creating a free multi-day destination for adventurers to enjoy for years to come. The more we can raise today, the more we’ll be able to put toward this massive transformation. While some of the actual amenities and their locations may vary from the images below, this shows our vision for Redhead.
Expanded Trail System
Up to 14 more miles of trail through the rocky, sloping backwoods will create new circuits through the park to breathtaking views of the old mining pit - now deep, clear lakes. Gravity-oriented loops and multiple loop options will ensure maximum speed and days of adventure.
New Amenities
Water stations, shaded picnic areas, updated signage, bike wash stations, changing stations, outdoor bathrooms, interactive history installations, and other park amenities to ensure a fully accommodating experience to make your adventure one you won’t forget.
Competitive Race Trails
To become a world-class destination, we’re building trails that allow for competitive events, allowing you to test your skills or watch how the pros take on the unique landscape of Redhead. This means widening portions of our trails to allow for professional leagues and high school mountain bike leagues to hold events at our park.
Asphalt Pump Track
A paved track, complete with unique mining-themed features will challenge and thrill everyone from beginners to the fastest riders, while showing off the unique history of Redhead Mountain Bike Park. Open for rollerbladers, scooter riders, and adaptive bike users, this track will allow everyone to experience Redhead. The pump track will also provide an opportunity for riders to warm up before hitting the trails.
Adaptive Trails
New trail systems will accommodate trike bikes, hand bikes, tandem bikes, and wheelchair bikes, allowing everyone to experience the thrills Redhead’s trails and landscape offer. The same widened trails used for competitive events will accommodate adaptive bikers, creating opportunities for adaptive events in the future.
Bike Park & Skills Course
Catch some air between trail runs in this one-of-a-kind bike park! This space, crafted with features from the existing landscape and historic mining equipment, will create an opportunity for advanced bikers to challenge their technical skills or allow beginner bikers a chance to develop the strength and confidence to take on more challenging trails in Redhead’s system.
